French artificial intelligence (AI) specialist Netsooon.ai has launched a new data center subsidiary, known as DataGreen.

DataGreen said it develops ecological data center solutions and data centers.

The company was initially an internal project of Netsooon.ai, but has now become a new independent entity, headed up by newly appointed CEO Karim Abed Abbas.

DataGreen has announced its first Edge installation in the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis. Further specifications weren't shared.

DataGreen said its solutions use green technology and its offerings also reduce the spatial footprint of a data center, using direct-to-chip cooling and low-cost green cloud services.

Its solutions are said to be linked to three pending patent applications.

“This technology is a real breakthrough. It has the potential to fundamentally change the way we produce and use energy. We are convinced that this technology can make a significant contribution to the fight against climate change,” said Martin Schechtner, co-founder of Netsooon.ai.

Other projects are under consideration in Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, and Toulouse.

Netsooon.ai was founded in 2023 by Benjamin Barthelemy, Martin Schechtner, Aasim Mistry, and Karim Abed Abbas.
