In the era of the hybrid IT and hybrid cloud models, leasees of colocation data center capacity and services have few waymarkers to assist in evaluating a data center facility’s infrastructure (mechanical and electrical) and services provider. That may be about to change.

The conference closing keynote panel and open-mic session is dedicated to one very big idea, the colocation Data Center Performance Index, collectively authored by the new professional organization, Infrastructure Masons, founded by Dean Nelson, head of Uber Compute and formerly VP, global foundation services for eBay.

This DCPI Big Idea keynote panel is open to all registered delegates for the DCD>Webscale conference, San Francisco Marriott Marquis, June 20.

Talent, energy, and organization

DCD hosts Infrastructure Masons for one of its signature “Local Edition” organizational meetings for the San Francisco/Bay Area region from 10am-1pm, on June 19, just prior to the Energy Smart Leadership Roundtable, which brings together data center energy experts with electric power utilities to work on the mutual issues of smart, clean energy management in the Zettabyte era.

Also, on the pre-conference day, Monday, June 19, the IoT Talent Consortium, formed by the likes of GE, Cisco, Disney and Rockwell Automation will be holding a workshop on IoT talent nurturing (including industrial IoT in the data center critical environment). The faculty for this includes Elizabeth Parkinson, VP, Connected Enterprise for Rockwell and MIT Sloan School associate dean Peter Hirst.

Registration to DCD>Webscale is complimentary for all data center and full-stack digital infrastructure end-user managers and technical professionals, by registering here.
