A new data center developer is pitching Northern Texas as a potential hub for new facilities.

DataNovaX, a new build-to-suit (BTS) data center provider, this week announced it is accepting clients at Pioneer Park in Wichita Falls.

Ahmed Abdelghani, DataNovaX CEO, said: "This area offers a wealth of resources and business incentives that make it an extremely welcoming environment for hyperscalers, data center operators, government, and large enterprises.

Wichita Falls is a city, and the county seat of Wichita County, in Nothern Texas. It is close to the border with Oklahoma, between Oklahoma City and Dallas Fort Worth.

DataNovaX claims the area has “ample sustainable power, plentiful dark fiber for connectivity as well as a talented workforce and pro-business tax climate.”

Located off I-44 Central E. Freeway and Hwy 287 on Airport Drive next to Sheppard Air Force Base, Pioneer Park's first phase features 6MW of power in a 37,000 sq ft (3,440 sqm) facility set to go live in December 2024. Phase II will include a 550,000 sq ft (51,100 sqm) facility with 150MW of power.

Abdelghani launched DataNovaX this year. He is also CEO of Star Texan Properties, which recently acquired a 37,000 sq ft call center in Wichita Falls.

Located at 2236 Airport Freeway in Wichita Falls and acquired from Skywalker Property Partners, that facility was previously leased to USA800, a subsidiary of The Results Companies. A brochure on Abdelghani’s LinkedIn confirms Pioneer Park is to be located at 2236 Airport Freeway on the call center site.

Pioneer Park reportedly features network providers including Zayo, AT&T, Indian Nations Fiber Optic (INFO), Syntrio, Spectrum, Vexus, Comcell, Consolidated Communications, Crown Castle, Dobson Fiber, Hilliary Communications, MetroNet Fiber, Texas Lone Star Network, Uniti Fiber, and Windstream.

Abdelghani added: "North Texas is one of most exciting data center growth zones in the country and an excellent alternative to the saturated Dallas Fort Worth market. While the Dallas Fort Worth area's fiber connectivity is at or near capacity, North Texas' Wichita Falls offers a world-class data availability zone with multiple metro and long haul fiber pathways and network providers within a one-mile radius.”
