European data center firm Penta Infra is developing a new facility in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The company this week announced the acquisition of a site that will be developed into a 20,000 sqm (215,280 sq ft) data center, delivering 20MW of IT load. A precise location or timeline for the development wasn't shared.

This will be the company's second facility in the Danish capital. Penta acquired its Glostrup, Copenhagen, data center – now known as CPH1 – from IT services firm Sentia in 2021. Sentia acquired the data center in 2016. The site provides 1.6MW across 1,000 sqm (10,765 sq ft).

Penta Infra aims to recycle the heat generated by the new data center - the company's first Copenhagen site already provides heat to approximately 1,500 homes.

Penta Infra, a portfolio company of Photon Capital founded in 2015, currently operates a portfolio of 12 data centers across Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
