Prime Data Centers is planning a new facility in Dallas, Texas.
According to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), Prime is looking to develop a three-story, 96,800 sq ft (8,995 sqm) data center at 1455 Round Table Drive in Dallas County.
“[A] three-story 96,796 sq ft data center building [to be] constructed in phases. The initial phase will consist of an unoccupied core and shell with site enhancements. The core package and shell will be designed to support the full build-out,” the project filing said.
Work on the $22 million project – adjacent to an existing data center Prime operates – is set to begin in May 2024 and run through to May 2025. AO Architects is the listed design firm.
Prime's current portfolio is centered around California, with campuses in development in Chicago, Illinois, and Phoenix, Arizona.
The company also quietly updated its site in April 2023 to include Dallas. The company lists a presence at 1515 Round Table Drive in Dallas, where it offers 6MW across 106,865 sq ft (9,930 sqm).
Previously a Carrier-1 facility, 1515 Round Table was sold to VPLS/Evocative in 2022. Evocative no longer lists the site – operated as DAL4 – on its website. No sale was ever officially announced between the companies.
On its website, Prime also lists plans for a new 12MW, 96,475 sq ft facility at the adjacent 1517 Round Table Drive.
It has also previously listed plans for a 24MW, 130,000 sq ft (12,075 sqm) facility at 1501 Lookout Drive in the Richardson area of Dallas that has since been removed. It is currently listed on real estate firm KDC's site.
Prime last year announced plans to expand into Europe with a 124MW campus in Saeby, Denmark. The company has also previously been reported as looking at expanding into Spain.
It has previously listed data centers in Madrid, Spain, and Frankfurt, Germany, as ‘coming soon’ on its website without further details, but has since taken them down.
Evocative still lists two facilities in Dallas; DAL1 and DAL6 in Plano. The former, at 28000 Summit Avenue, offers 30MW across 300,000 sq ft (27,870 sqm). The latter, at 1221 Coit Road, offers 12MW across 111,000 sq ft (10,312 sqm).
