The company last month announced it has completed a pre-lease with a ‘large, publicly-traded technology company’ which will use the space to ‘optimize content delivery’ for its users in the region. The transaction secures 12MW at Prime’s Los Angeles data center for delivery in Q4 of 2024.

“On behalf of everyone at Prime, I would like to welcome our newest customer to the Los Angeles market,” said Prime CEO Nicholas Laag. “Demand is strong at Prime LAX-01 thanks to its unique combination of reliable, wholesale data center capacity and access to hundreds of local, national, and global networks. This creates an ideal data center environment for cloud providers, Internet businesses, technology companies, and the content-centric enterprise.”

Announced in June 2022, the three-story LAX-01 is Prime’s first data center in the city. The facility will offer 261,000 square feet (24,250 sqm) and 33MW of critical IT load capacity across three data halls.

As well as four facilities in the Santa Clara area, Prime is developing facilities in Sacramento, California, and Elk Grove, Chicago.
