Qlogic said it had acquired Brocade’s Fibre Channel and converged network adapter business through the alliance agreement.

QLogic and Brocade the deal which will see joint develop deployments of Gen 5 and Gen 6 Fibre Channel Technology and market advanced SAN solutions for next-gen data centers.
Jack Rondoni, Brocade’s VP of Product Management, said: “Both companies have a long history of delivering innovative, high-performance connectivity solutions to address enterprise IT needs, and with this agreement we will accelerate innovation for the next generation of storage networking.”
Amit Vashi, QLogic’s VP of Products, Technology and Planning, said the agreement put the companies in a position to 'allow us to accelerate the adoption of new SAN technologies and drive the future of Fibre Channel.'
