QTS has filed to build a new data center campus outside Dallas, Texas.
First reported by the Dallas Morning News, QTS has filed an application with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for QTS DFW2-DC1.
The company aims to develop a two-story, 413,725 sq ft (38,436 sqm) building at 303 Mason Road in the Lancaster area of Dallas County.
Work is due to start on the $288 million project in November 2024 for a December 2025 completion date.
DataCenterHawk suggests the site will offer 72MW.
Corgan Associates was listed as the project’s design firm.
“We look forward to expanding our footprint in Dallas to meet growing demand from our customers in the market,” a QTS representative told the publication in a statement. “We are investing in this region as a long-term partner and will ensure our growth is beneficial to the community.”
QTS has one existing campus in the Irving area of Dallas. The 55-acre site, at 6431 Longhorn Drive, offers 147MW of capacity. DC1&2 span 700,000 sq ft and offer 75.2MW of critical power, with DC3 spanning 415,900 sq ft and offering 43MW.
Last year the company re-filed to build DC5 at 6300 Longhorn Drive. The $180 million project, set to start in April 2024 and run until September 2025, will see a 264,000 sq ft (24,525 sqm) data center constructed. The company first filed to build DC5 back in 2022.
As well as Irving, QTS has Texas campuses in Fort Worth and San Antonio.
