QTS has filed to build a new data center building at its campus outside Dallas, Texas.
As reported by the Dallas Morning News and BizJournal, QTS has filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a new data center at 6300 Longhorn Drive in Irving, Dallas County.
The company has filed for QTS DFW1-DC6; the project is described as a two-story 210,755 square foot partially built-out core and shell with phased data center and associated administrative spaces, equipment yards, mechanical & electrical equipment, and site improvements.
The company said it aims to invest $152 million in the project, which will run from August 2024 to November 2025. HDR Architecture Inc. is listed as the design firm
QTS’s existing 55-acre Irving facility, at 6431 Longhorn Drive, offers 147MW of capacity. DC1&2 span 700,000 sq ft and offer 75.2MW of critical power, with DC3 spanning 415,900 sq ft and offering 43MW.
Last year the company re-filed to build DC5 at 6300 Longhorn Drive. The $180 million project, set to start in April 2024 and run until September 2025, will see a 264,000 sq ft (24,525 sqm) data center constructed. The company first filed to build DC5 back in 2022.
As well as Irving, QTS has Texas campuses in Fort Worth and San Antonio.
