The Raxio Group has appointed Master Power Technologies to develop data centers across Africa.
Founded in 1999 and based in South Africa, Master Power Technologies is a private company that provides turnkey power and data center solutions across the African continent.
Raxio launched a new 400 rack facility in Kampala, Uganda in May. The company is planning developments in Mozambique, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and says it also has further investments planned for the Ivory Coast and Tanzania later this year.
Master Power will provide design localization, supply, installation, and commissioning of all technical areas across Raxio’s sites.
“Working with Master Power allows us to accelerate our expansion through a more streamlined and optimized design-to-commissioning process across multiple sites,” said Robert Mullins, CEO of Raxio Group. “Master Power’s long-established track-record of successful installations across the African continent and a highly-skilled team, as well as its ability to tailor its solutions to meet the requirements of our unique design were key criteria in our selection process.”
All the facilities are being designed and developed in compliance with Uptime Institute’s Tier III standard and will deliver power densities up to 21kW per rack.

Established in 2018 by Roha Group, Raxio plans to build up to 12 facilities across Africa within three years. Earlier this year fund manager Meridiam invested $48 million into the company to fund its expansion.
Master Power also offers wholesale colocation services through its Digital Parks Africa (DPA) sister company, which owns a Tier III certified facility in Centurion, South Africa.
