Schneider Electric has released three “robust” data center operation service offerings which have been designed to optimize and simplify operations throughout each step of the data center life cycle.

Its new group of vendor-agnostic services - Vendor Management, Managed Maintenance and Facility Operations - will use trained specialists to ensure critical facilities meet design objectives, allowing managers to avoid downtime and to focus on business objectives.

Schneider Electric said the services will help data center operators lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) and enable them to continuously maintain, operate, monitor and optimize the data center throughout its life cycle.

Schneider Electric’s VP of UK and Ireland Dale Wrangles said data centers are now in a position to help companies gain a competitive advantage.

“Schneider Electric’s Operation Services has extensive experience in managing mission-critical facilities around the globe, which is becoming increasingly important as data centre managers look to increase performance, reliability and efficiency while minimising risk, and eliminating the complexities of day-to-day operations,” Wrangles said.

Schneider Electric has also released two new series of Smart-UPS models which come with an LCD interface and diagnostic capabilities and advanced energy management.

Schneider Electric IB Business VP for Singapore and Brunei Keith Murray said the UPSs promote the full advantages of cloud computing for SMEs, with real-time montoring capabilities that allow them to react much faster to change.

The new models include an intuitive, customizable LCD interface to provide local and remote configuration capabilities, accurate power status information, diagnostics, tests and activity logs.

Last month Schneider Electric purchased modular data center provider AST Modular. You can read more about its strategies with modular in FOCUS 34, out now in print, digital and as an iPad download at DCDFocus.
