Modular data center firm Secure I.T. Environments (SITE) has completed a mechanical and electrical upgrade at the data center of St Mary’s Hospital in the Isle of Wight, the UK.
SITE originally designed and installed the micro data center in 2008.
It has now been upgraded to accommodate 14 racks, offering a capacity of 80kW.
The company said it installed cold aisle containment to new and existing racks, added four DMA030D GEA Multi-DENCO Energy Efficient DX air conditioning units, and replaced the UPS with a Riello MPW PWC 300 Multipower UPS solution.
The upgrade will allow the Isle of Wight NHS Trust to reach its target PUE of 1.15 and is projected to achieve its return on investment in less than two years.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust serves an offshore population of more than 140,000 patients.
UK-based SITE specializes in the build and installation of modular and micro data centers for private, healthcare, education, and government sectors. The company delivered a micro data center to Barnet Hospital’s ICU last June.
The company has provided similar containerized micro data centers for Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Johnson Service Group, in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
The company has also provided data center modules for Proximity Data Centres at the company’s Nottingham facility. In 2019, the Thurrock County Council received a 234 sqm (2,500 sq ft) facility for £560,000 ($719,000 at the time).
