The deployment comes just before the 2024 Major League Baseball All-Star Week celebrations.

The company said fans at the stadium will have access to 100 percent 5G coverage inside the stadium, including T-Mobile’s fastest Ultra Capacity 5G and 200Mhz of mmWave 5G.

T-Mobile added the stadium will now offer download and upload speeds of 1.6Gbps and 100Mbps during a game.

Other locations in Arlington’s entertainment district, such as Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, Texas Live, and Choctaw Stadium, will also have access to the permanent 5G network.

The telco said its network now covers 99 percent of Arlington.

Capacity during the All-Star week will be boosted by Cell on Wheels and Cell on Light Trucks in key areas.

“T-Mobile’s 5G infrastructure consistently enhances the fan experience, delivering increased speed and low latency across the stadium and for long after All-Star Week,” said Graf Reiner, vice president of IT at Texas Rangers Baseball Club.

T-Mobile, which acquired and merged with Sprint in 2020 in a $26bn deal, recently closed its $1.35 billion acquisition of Ka’ena Corporation plus its subsidiaries and brands. These include Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile, a wireless service offering international calling options to communities across the country, plus wholesaler Plum.

The telco also confirmed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in US Cellular in May this year.
