Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited has confirmed that its portfolio company, České Radiokomunikace a.s. (CRA), has signed a new 15-year contract with mobile operator T-Mobile.

The long-term deal covers the lease of space on CRA’s telecommunications towers.

T-Mobile is already a customer of CRA, but the new deal replaces and expands the scope of the existing contract with the operator.

For context, the previous agreement saw T-Mobile use CRA’s facilities at 202 sites, however, this has now been expanded to access all 610 telecoms sites owned by CRA.

According to Cordiant, the new contract will provide T-Mobile with improved flexibility around installing 5G equipment and greater signal availability, primarily in rural areas. T-Mobile provides mobile services to over 6.4 million customers in Czechia.

“Our infrastructure is unique, both in Czech and in European terms. We are glad that our clients appreciate its quality and that it is helping us improve our services for end users of mobile services," said CRA’s CEO, Miloš Mastnik.

"We are pleased that we can be a long-term and stable partner for our clients, which is reflected in the duration of the contract we have signed.”

Last year, DCD reported that CRA is planning to build a new data center outside Prague, due to go live in 2024.

At the time, the company's sales director Miloš Mastník said the new data center will be ‘the largest in the country’ and able to host up to 2,000 racks.
