JK Land Holdings has acquired the Ashburn, Virginia, headquarters of Telos Corporation to develop a data center campus.

The Loudoun County site spans 25 acres and was purchased for $60 million, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The site is currently used by cybersecurity firm Telos Corporation, and was sold by real estate investment and management firm Finmarc Management Inc. which purchased the property in 2019 for $26.1m.

Chuck Kuhn-owned JK Land Holdings is considering developing a data center at the site located at 19886 Ashburn Road near Route 7.

This plan is still somewhat uncertain, with Kuhn telling WBJ that after Telos' lease runs out the long-term plan for the site is "somewhat open-ended", but that a data center is a "viable alternative."

Should it go ahead, Kuhn plans to develop a two-story data center totaling 360,000 sq ft (33,445 sqm) along with a substation where the HQ building and parking lot are currently located.

This site plan has been approved by the county and was originally submitted in February 2023 by then-owner Finmarc.

The parcel has an existing three-story 110,000 sq ft commercial office building and an 80,000 sq ft single-story industrial building which are home to Telos. The cybersecurity firm is set to remain a tenant at the property until 2029, having been located there since 1988.

JK Land Holdings and Chuck Kuhn are major data center players in Loudoun County. The company is also working on an 81-acre data center campus on land south of Leesburg dubbed 'Greenlin Park' and several others across the county.
