As a Data Center Architect for Tencent, Ensoli Li is responsible for the planning and design of Tencent data centers with a particular emphasis on the incorporation of new energy saving measures and new technologies. His presentation at DCD>Australia on June 27 will chart the evolution of Tencent data centers as the basis of Tencent’s growth as a provider of Internet value added services in China and, more recently, overseas.

As Tencent has grown to become one of the world’s largest Internet companies and its largest gaming company, so the demands on its data centers have increased accordingly. This is the starting point for Ensoli’s talk:

“As the demands for IOT, video media and cloud services grow, so our data centers will need to grow fast too. We are looking to larger data centers customized to our requirements. Faster delivery and resilience are challenges to their design and operation.”

Ensoli will describe how the Tencent process of data center planning and design is resolving these challenges, and he will look at a number of the technical features that have enabled this, for example, the incorporation of TMDC and T-block into an all prefabricated modular data center and how AC+240V HVDC active standby power solutions and Nebula monitoring systems can be used in this design.

Ensoli believes that his presentation will assist everyone involved or relying on cutting-edge data center technology:

“I will introduce the four generations of Tencent data center technology, why we have developed these and how far we have reached. I will speak also about some of the best practices we have developed and I hope my presentation will be of some help for the audience.”

DCD>Australia is pleased to welcome Ensoli to the conference and based on the very positive reaction to the Tencent data center story at DCD conferences elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region, we believe that it will be of considerable help to the audience in Sydney.

The conference & expo in Sydney on June 27, DCD>Australia is set to deliver 550 senior IT professionals, 30 thought leaders and 20 key innovators taking the industry to greater heights by discussing and showcasing the latest technologies hitting the ANZ data center and Cloud market. Other than a full day conference agenda around the topic of “Optimising Hybrid IT” across 2 conference halls, the day will also include networking opportunities, and lunch briefings with insider access into the latest technology by Huber + Suhner and Eltek.
