London data center provider Virtus Data Centres has added the option to connect directly to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure via Level 3's network.

The AWS Direct Connect service is aimed at customers who work with large quantities of data and real-time data feeds who want to bypass the public internet when connecting to the public cloud infrastructure.

Virtus said its LONDON1 data center customers can use the service to establish private networks connections between their existing dedicated IT infrastructure and the AWS platform.

Customers can directly access cloud services such as Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud, Simple Storage Service and Virtual Private Cloud.
