First reported by BN Americas, Augusto Cuadros, director of the firm’s data center unit, said: “We estimate that the data center capacity will multiply by 2.5 in terms of space in the next three or four years.”

Just outside of Lima in La Molina, the company will build its sixth Peruvian data center. The facility will house more than 600 cabinets, with the first phase seeing the launch of 200 cabinets.

The initial investment for the facility totals $12 million and the following two phases will see an additional $10 million investment.

Cuadros added: “We’re the only company that has a data center outside of Lima, fully certified, and another under construction.”

Inaugurated in 2020, Win Empresa's flagship facility is located in Santa Catalina, Lima, is already at 80 percent occupancy. The company plans to expand the facility to its maximum capacity of 2MW.

The company has two other data centers located in Arequipa and Tacna, Peru. Its Tacna facility is situated on the border of Chile, which the company says provides routes out of the continent.

The majority of data centers in Peru have been historically located in Lima. Cirion, Actis, Equinix, and InterNexa all have a presence in the city.
