Jorge Abadía

CEO, NextStream

Since January 1st 2024, Jorge is the CEO of Nextstream, a Latin America Data Center platform covering five countries in Latin America and US acquired by Actis in June 2023.

Jorge brings over 30 years of telecom experience in Latin America, Europe and Asia. Before Nextstream (October 2022-December 2023), he was a partner at Nexo, a digital infra platform in Latin America backed by KKR. Previously, he worked for Telefonica in M&A and C-levels positions.

In his last two positions within Telefonica, from 2016-2022, he was the responsible for the tower business of Telxius (COO Telxius Towers), a digital infrastructure platform (towers and submarine cables) owned by Telefonica, KKR and Pontegadea with more than 30,000 sites in Latin America and Europe sold to American Tower for USD 9.4 bn and 30.5x times implied multiple over OBIDAaL pro forma.

Before Telxius, he was the CEO of Telefonica Costa Rica (2011-2016), starting from scratch with the bid for the auction and leaving the company six years later being the leader in market share.

Jorge is an economist by the Universidad Autonoma in Madrid, Spain.
