Roy Maxwell

Director, ESG & Products, KevlinX

Roy is a hugely experienced ICT professional with industry-leading knowledge of and commitment to sustainable data center design, operation, and service. He has worked with investors, operators, industry associations and consultancies on everything from design and build to sales and customer service. He built and ran Scotland’s largest commercially available data center from 2004 to 2012, deploying free air cooling which supported an annualised PUE of 1.3 – an extremely low PUE at the time. Since then, he has completed a Sustainability Studies course at the University of Oxford’s Said Business School.

Roy’s focus is on the investments, processes, metrics and milestones on the Kevlinx journey to zero carbon, a journey which has already begun with the company’s commitment to build in line with BREEAM environmental accreditation and its signature, as a member of EUDCA, to the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact, covering PUE, carbon-free energy, circularity targets and measurement.
