As a leader in Sustainability Partnerships at Shell Energy, Shelley McCain is driving the energy transition by forging strategic alliances with some of the world’s largest energy consumers in the tech sector.

Her expertise in structuring complex energy agreements has led to the development of gigawatt-scale clean energy projects for many prominent hyperscalers and data center operators. She has helped these companies accelerate their journey to net-zero emissions by providing access to clean energy solutions like renewables, sustainable fuels, and electrification while also championing the use of artificial intelligence to drive innovation and optimize energy consumption, demand forecasting, and real-time energy management.

With more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, Shelley has held a variety of commercial roles that have honed her expertise in business development, structuring, and deal-making, marketing, and strategy. Her proficiency in crafting bespoke commercial structures and agreements has enabled the development of gigawatt-scale energy projects, supporting global enterprises in their transition to lower carbon operations. She has spent the latter half of her career contributing her knowledge of energy markets and experience with energy buyers, governments, and NGOs to support the development of and investment in lower carbon solutions. Shelley graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Global Energy Management. Beyond her passion for clean, sustainable, and affordable energy, Shelley has also devoted time as a board member of several non-profit organizations in support of education and women's empowerment.
