As with any construction process, the construction of a data centre is focused on the outcome and the blueprint set down by the design specifications. This paper indicates that the construction of data centres may be too outcome-focused with not enough attention paid to the process. This is particularly important given that the technological trends which are driving data centre change are creating facilities that are larger, denser, more networked, more converged and scalable.
