Panel: How will the carbon negative data center of the future be powered?
The world is undergoing a one-in-a-lifetime energy transition which will see the global energy sector shift from fossil-based systems of energy production and consumption to renewables. However, with much concern about the intermittency of wind and solar, the inability to store hydrogen and the safety concerns surrounding nuclear power, it is not yet clear which renewable power source will have the scalability to fuel the carbon-negative data center.
Critically, this panel will contrast green hydrogen vs nuclear power, explore the timeline for adoption and the impact which regulation such as the Inflation Reduction Act will have on tax credits for clean energy production.
