What will generator-less data centers mean for critical power infrastructure?

When it comes to the power infrastructure, decision making within the data center industry is dictated more and more by the desire to be clean and green. Diesel generators are seen as a bastion of old industry, and although run for a relatively short amount of time annually, they emit upwards of 650g of carbon per kWh. However, in disaster scenarios, such as the Texas power outage, diesel was proven to be the reliable backup that got operators through.

This panel will track what effect transitioning away from diesel will have on the downstream power infrastructure, also considering the feasibility of replacement, customer demand, and alternative technologies that could eventually replace fossil fuels.
