Panel: How will green policy shape the US digital infrastructure sector?

Energy policy can either help or hinder in the implementation of efficient and cost-effective, carbon-neutral infrastructure. With energy usage having drastically increased overnight during the pandemic to support the many changes to society, it continues to be a mammoth portion of the global economy. Most energy infrastructure is built to last for decades, which makes it crucial to get energy policy right. Done wrong, energy policy can waste billions of dollars and lock in dirty, inefficient systems for decades.

In the transition to a low-carbon future, this panel looks at how to get energy policy right. With a new administration in place, how will green policy in the US evolve and what will this mean for the operators of digital infrastructure? What are the imperatives needed to ensure a well-designed and well-implemented energy policy that can improve green capacity and minimize emissions at no additional cost (or even net savings) to the economy?
