Thailand-based mobile network operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) is launching a cloud service using Oracle Alloy.
The company claims this will be Thailand's first locally owned and operated hyperscale cloud, which will be known as AIS Cloud.
Oracle Alloy is a cloud infrastructure platform that enables Oracle's partners to become cloud providers. AIS will be housing Oracle Alloy within two of its own data centers, enabling it to offer a sovereign cloud to customers.
Customers will also be able to access more than 100 Oracle cloud services through Alloy.
"For over 34 years, AIS has continuously developed digital technology infrastructure to provide customers in Thailand with a superior digital experience," said Somchai Lertsutiwong, chief executive officer, AIS. "This is coupled with leveraging our network's potential by collaborating with various partners to connect and support public and private sector organizations in achieving effective digital transformation. This enhances the capability and elevates the ability to create business growth, leading to sustainable competitive advantages for the country."

Other companies that have selected Oracle Alloy to create sovereign hyperscale clouds include Team IM in New Zealand, Fujitsu in Japan, and Du in the UAE. The Alloy offering was launched in late 2022.
Advanced Info Service is a digital infrastructure service provider in Thailand serving a customer base of more than 49.8 million people. Its services include 5G networks, broadband Internet, and a digital services business.
