Alameda Healthcare Group is partnering up with Dell Technologies for a data center in Cairo, Egypt.

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for Dell to provide the data center equipment necessary to Alameda, as well as to provide implementation services, Alameda announced in a LinkedIn post.

Dell will also offer advisory services to Alameda surrounding Edge computing, network infrastructure, data center core technologies, and multi-cloud solutions.

The data center will be located in Cairo, and will host Alameda's digital infrastructure.

Dr. Fahad Khater, chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group, said: “We are excited to collaborate with Dell Technologies on this transformative initiative. The exact value of the MoU has not been shared, but it is described as a "multi-million-dollar agreement."

Alameda Health Group was founded in 1999. The company operates two tertiary care hospital brands, a specialized gastroenterology and liver care center, a physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic, and general healthcare clinics.

According to the group's website, Alameda uses "state-of-the-art IT infrastructure to provide patients with the best care. It has SAP patient management and ERP systems deployed, and uses Cerner health information and technology systems to optimize clinical outcomes by saving time, reducing error, and providing insights."

Per Data Center Map, Cairo has 11 data centers with operators including Telecom Egypt, Raya Data Center, Link Data Center, Etisalat Misr, GPX Global Systems, and Orange among others. Khazna is also developing a data center in Cairo.

Earlier this year, the Egyptian government launched a cloud computing data center.
