Precision power conversion, measurement, and control technology company Advanced Energy Industries saw data center revenues grow significantly in the last quarter.

In an earnings call, company CEO Steve Kelley said that the growth "was driven by strong demand from both hyperscale and enterprise customers, mainly for AI applications."

Kelley said that "data center revenue grew 74 percent sequentially" and 24 percent year-over-year to $73 million, as the company's "high-efficiency, high-power density products are well-suited for AI servers, which require significantly more power than conventional servers."

Overall revenue was up 11 percent sequentially to $365 million.

The company believes that the "increased AI demand will drive robust revenue levels for several quarters," with the company predicting that data center-specific revenue will be higher in Q3 and Q4 than it was this quarter.

Kelley added: "During the quarter, we won a major AI-related design at a leading hyperscale customer and expect to begin ramping that win to production later this year."
