Data center firm Edged Energy is planning to develop a data center in Dallas, Texas.

In a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Edged Dallas LLC is looking to develop a 162,545 sq ft (15,100 sqm) data center at 505 N Wildwood Drive in Irving. The project is named ‘Edged DFW Data Center’.

“The scope of development involves modifications to an existing warehouse. The project aims to incorporate data processing halls, along with accompanying office facilities and essential electrical and mechanical components,” the filing states.

The company aims to invest $35 million in the Dallas County project, which will run from September 2023 to November 2024.

Originally known as Loop12, the existing warehouse facility was built by Johnson Development and completed last year.

Edged Energy is part of Endeavour, which was set up by Aligned founder Jakob Carnemark.

The company is still relatively new, with it first coming to light in 2021 after teaming up with Merlin Properties on data centers across Spain and Portugal, including Madrid, Bilbao, a 24MW data center in Barcelona, and Lisbon.

Earlier this year, the company began heading across the Atlantic Ocean, with plans for a data center in Atlanta, Georgia, and another in Chicago, Illinois on which it broke ground in May 2023.

The company has filed to develop a 126,000-square-foot (11,705 sqm) data center on a 14-acre site in the Mesa area of Phoenix, Arizona, and is also developing an 18MW facility in Kansas City’s Northland in Missouri.

The company guarantees “net zero digital infrastructure,” and claims that its data centers will have a PUE of 1.15 even in the “hottest climates.

In a blog from earlier this year, Carnemark said the company was developing US sites in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Columbus, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, and Central California.

QTS has a data center in Irving. A former Fidelity data center was recently converted to include office and warehousing space in the area.
