Colocation and hybrid infrastructure solutions company Internap Holding (INAP), which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year, has appointed former Joe Corvaia as executive VP and chief revenue officer (CRO), with a brief to expand sales and help growth in the cloud market.

Coming from Oracle, Corvaia served as Group VP for the company's Cloud Independent Software Vendor Ecosystem, in which role he oversaw vendors marketing their apps on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace selling cloud solutions to the company's customers. He has over 24 years experience with businesses focused on public cloud, hybrid cloud, networking, security, and managed services.

Marketing expert

The new hire comes after some tough times for INAP. Following a hard financial year, the company filed for bankruptcy in March. The filing revealed INAP had debts amounting to around $785m; when this news broke, the company's stock plummeted 58 percent.

Michael Sicoli was taken on as CEO in May, replacing the previous boss Peter D Aquino, and led the firm through the Chapter 11 filing and subsequent financial restructuring. The company has now emerged from bankruptcy, with just half its debt.

Before Oracle, Corvaia was the VP of technical sales over at NTT Communications, VP of cloud sales at Evolve IP, and CRO at Cloudamize.
