Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Yahoo will continue to host its infrastructure at the facility.

“The acquisition of Yahoo’s SG3 data center is another illustration of PDG’s three-pronged investment strategy of greenfield development, carve-outs, and acquisition. Along with a strategic asset, we gain an important customer in Yahoo and additional capacity to serve PDG’s customers,” said Rangu Salgame, chairman, CEO and co-founder of PDG.

“Through this acquisition, we continue to be in alignment with Singapore’s strategy of unlocking additional data center capacity by driving greater energy efficiency at existing data centers.”

Aaron Lake, CIO & SVP of platforms engineering at Yahoo, added: “As we invest in key initiatives to drive growth and innovation, our partnership with Princeton Digital Group in Singapore will continue to support Yahoo’s global strategy.”

PDG was set up with the help of Warburg Pincus in 2017 and operates data centers in China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan.

The company operates one other data center in Singapore. SG1 offers 14MW across 16,150 sqm (173,840 sq ft). The operator bought the SG1 data center from US-based IO data centers in 2019.
