“ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India), the leading data center colocation service provider, is glad to announce the commencement of the construction of its third data center campus at Siruseri, Chennai, on January 24,” the company said on LinkedIn last week.

The new campus will comprise two data centers totaling 50MW IT load. The first 8MW phase of the first building is due to be operational by September 2025.

The company recently held a traditional ground-breaking ceremony known as a Bhoomi Pooja for the first building, listed as STT Chennai 7.

“The journey is getting more and more exciting, as we continue to enhance our pan-India portfolio and add more than 250MW of IT load capacity over the next three-five years in our quest to support the thriving digital ecosystem in the country,” said Sumit Mukhija, CEO of STT GDC India.

The company has three facilities in operation in Chennai totaling more than 40MW, with another (STT Chennai 4) in development and set to offer 18MW.
