T5 Data Centers has acquired land outside Atlanta, Georgia, for a new data center campus.

The company this week announced plans to expand its Atlanta footprint with the development of a new data center campus in South Fulton County known as ATL IV.

The 91-acre site in Palmetto is already zoned for data center use and reportedly scalable to support up to 300MW of power capacity. An on-site electrical substation will provide utility power, which is expected to be operational in 2026.

“Our expansion in the Atlanta market underscores our commitment to providing infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of our clients. We are not just building a data center campus; we are creating a future-ready environment where hyperscalers and large enterprises can thrive,” said Pete Marin, CEO of T5.

"By providing liquid cooling to the rack, T5 is setting a new standard for energy efficiency and sustainability in data center construction and operations.”

T5 filed plans for a ‘ATL IV’ campus with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs last year. That project was set to see 2.95 million sq ft (264,065 sqm) of data centers developed across seven buildings until 2030.

David Horowitz, SVP and head of leasing for T5, added: “The Atlanta region has been a key market for T5 since our inception 17 years ago. Our relationships with key stakeholders in Atlanta and our expertise in this market allows us to strategically locate sites that will support our customers' unprecedented growth in a time frame superior to our competition. This is only the beginning of our growth in Atlanta.”

Earlier this year T5 filed plans for a data center campus in Fairburn, Fulton County, looking to build two two-story buildings totaling 495,000 sq ft. The application appears to have been withdrawn.

T5 currently operates the T5@Atlanta site at 1456 Trae Lane outside Atlanta in Lithia Springs.

Atlanta is a major data center hub with operators including Microsoft, CoreSite, QTS, DataBank, Flexential, Switch, DC Blox, Edged Energy, Stack, T5, Vantage, and EdgeConneX.

Elsewhere in Georgia, T5 previously announced plans for a large campus in Augusta, but has since pulled out of the project, with a new developer taking over the site.
