A tower technician in Nebraska has been rescued from a cell tower after he got his hand trapped under some steel.

As reported by NCN Nebraska, York Fire Department responded to a call for help on Tuesday (June 11) around 12:06 pm after an individual got stuck on a Viaero cell phone tower.

The man, who works for a tower company, had been updating the cell phone mast, when his hand became trapped under some steel.

It's not been reported who the man works for.

NBN reported that Fairmont Fire and Rescue, Fillmore County Sheriff Department, and York County 911 helped to bring the man down safely.

He was transported to Lincoln with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Everything went well. Everybody worked well together,” said Tony Bestwick, York Fire Chief. “We were talking to each other on the radio so everything went pretty smooth.”

Separately this week, a man in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was talked down from a cell tower after spending hours atop the structure.

His reason for being up the tower remains unknown, though he was transported to a nearby medical facility.

Last month, a man in Florida was arrested after climbing a telecom tower, just a month after being arrested for doing the same thing.
