Yondr Group has switched on the power at its first data center in Loudoun County, Northern Virginia.
The powering up comes just over a year after the company first broke ground on the data center in October 2022.
At full build-out, the data center will be able to deliver 96MW of IT capacity across two buildings, with the potential for further expansion.
“Demand for data centers is growing exponentially, and energizing the initial power at our first data center campus in Northern Virginia is a testament to our expert Yondr-ites within our utilities, development, design & construction, and operations teams," said Eanna Murphy, COO of global design and construction at Yondr Group.
"Possessing such a breadth of skillsets under one roof is a real niche within our market, enabling us to serve our clients’ growing cloud capacity needs.”
The Loudoun data center followed Yondr announcing plans to invest $2 billion into expanding its American operations 2021. The following month, the company purchased 270 acres of land for data center campuses in Northern Virginia.

Yondr also has data centers outside of Northern Virginia, either in development or operation, in Queretaro, Mexico; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Toronto, Canada; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Berlin & Frankfurt, Germany; London, UK; Paris, France; Prague, Czech Republic; Johannesburg, South Africa; Jakarta, Indonesia; Johor, Malaysia; and Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi in India.
