Yotta has already placed a large order for Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs, and expects to bring the cloud offering live in January 2024 with 4,096 GPUs, increasing to 16,384 GPUs by June 2024. By the end of 2025, Yotta aims to reach 32,768 GPUs.

The cloud will also use the Nvidia InfiniBand networking and will feature PaaS services, including access to generative AI models.

Yotta first shared plans to launch its public cloud service in August 2023. The GPU cloud will be hosted at NM1, Yotta's Navi Mumbai data center, a facility with 50MW of IT capacity, and the second 16,384 GPUs will go to D1, the company's new Greater Noida data center near Delhi, which has an IT capacity of 28.8MW.

This also marks Yotta as the first Nvidia Partner Network cloud partner in India.

"Yotta is proud to join forces with Nvidia, a global leader in GPU technology, in India to launch our Shakti Cloud platform to usher in a new era of computing innovation in line with the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister for a digital Bharat," Darsha Hiranandani, co-found and chairman of Yotta, and Sunil Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Yotta in a joint statement.

"We're excited to embark on this journey, leveraging our scalable cloud and data center infrastructure and Nvidia's cutting-edge GPU technology to empower Indian businesses, governments, startups, and researchers with unparalleled GPU-as-a-Service solutions to catalyze advancements in AI, machine learning, gaming, content creation, and scientific research.

In addition to the existing Navi Mumbai and Noida campuses, Yotta has more in development in Mumbai and Gujarat in India, and in Dhaka in Bangladesh. The company also has Edge locations in operation or development in Lucknow, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur, and Chandigarh.

Nvidia H100 GPUs are also available as a cloud offering on Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Gcore, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Voltage Park.
