Associate, Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects

Chheng is an Associate at Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects, where she has extensive experience working for hyperscale clients in the field of mission critical architecture. Her data center projects support the internet and cloud infrastructure for the United States, and are strategic connection points for global internet traffic.

A recognized design leader, her work on the Fort Worth Data Center Administration Building was awarded AIA Chicago’s Distinguished Building Award in 2020. Chheng has presented on global connectivity, digital society and data center design in a number of settings including at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the AIA National Conference for Architecture, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Chicago Tribune, Architect Magazine and numerous legislative and governmental agencies.

In 2021, she received the IM100 Award for outstanding contribution to the data center industry, and is recognized as a Notable Woman in Construction & Design and a Notable Woman in STEM by Crain’s Chicago Business. Beyond her project commitments, Chheng promotes diversity and inclusion in design through serving as a mentor on several education programs for young architects including with the Chicago Scholars Foundation and the iMasons Senior Design Capstone at Hampton University. Chheng received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-ARC).
