Jason Matteson

Director, Product Strategy, Iceotope Technologies Limited

Jason Matteson is an IT Equipment cooling specialist and data center solutions engineer. Currently he is the Director of Product Strategy at Iceotope Cooling Technologies Limited based out of Sheffield UK.

Prior to being with Iceotope, Jason spent 22 years working in the electronics cooling industry, working at IBM, Lenovo and Vertiv. At IBM, Jason was the principle cooling architect for several mission-critical System X and BladeCenter programs, and was recognized for his contributions for innovative thermal designs and client contributions. At Lenovo, Jason worked in the research and technology lab responsible for identifying and driving disruptive and differentiating technologies and solutions. Finally, at Vertiv, Jason was a cooling solutions architect, working with both the embedded applications and technologies team, driving deeper levels of server monitoring and management, while also working with the Liebert cooling team, tasked with identifying and advancing new cooling solutions.

In addition to development roles, Jason has, and continues to contribute to several industry consortiums, including ASHRAE, DMTF, and OCP. Most interestingly, his roles within ASHRAE TC9.9 have included chair, vice-chair, voting member, and IT subcommittee member.

Jason has 72 U.S. Patents, has authored, or co-authored several intellectual-property publications, and has given several presentations about industry power and cooling trends at various technical symposiums and conferences. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1997.
