Robert Sty

Vice President, TMT Sector, HDR

Having practiced in the mechanical engineering field for 20 years, Robert is a Vice President and Development Lead for the North America Tech sector within HDR's Building Engineering Services business group. His focus is leadership, strategic program development, and design of complex mission critical, telecom, and advanced technology projects which require high levels of uptime and energy efficiency.

Robert has written articles and presented on numerous topics for the ASHRAE Journal, Consulting Specifying Engineering Magazine, Building Design + Construction, 7x24 Exchange, and AZRE Magazine. As an active member of ASHRAE, he has served on the Board of Governors from 2003-2007, and as Central Arizona Chapter President for the 2006-2007 session. In 2009, he was part of the City of Chandler, Arizona’s Green Building Task force assisting in establishing the City’s sustainable building program and also selected by Consulting Specifying Engineering Magazine’s top Forty Under 40 award for his contributions to the industry.

In an effort to stay on top of industry trends and education, Robert has earned a graduate certificate in Engineering Management and professional certificates in Energy Innovation, Sustainable Energy Conversion & Storage, and Advanced Project Management from Stanford University.
