Tony Jacob

Vice President of Design & Construction, Interxion: A Digital Realty Company

In September 2017, Tony Jacob joined Digital Realty (now Interxion: A Digital Realty Company) as Vice President (VP) of Design & Construction managing a total annual spend in excess of $1bn. In the role, Tony leads the team working to optimise time to deliver, ensuring the design and construction processes of Digital Realty’s EMEA data centres are industry-leading in speed of delivery, cost-efficiency, repeatability, predictability, and quality.

In September 2021 Tony was asked to lead Interxion’s Design & Construction activity across France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands and the UK. He is part of a global D&C team that is looking to harmonise standards and ways of working globally, regionally and nationally.

Prior to joining Digital Realty, Tony spent 13 years with John Lewis Partnership PLC, first as Head of Construction and working his way to the position Head of Construction, Engineering and Maintenance. He led the design, build and construction of over 200 new supermarkets, 20 new department stores, 3.5 million ft2 of distribution space, office fit outs circa 100,000ft2 more than 200 major refurbishments and over a thousand minor refurbishments.

Tony joined Safeway Stores PLC in 2002 as Head of Projects, after two years with Easynet as Property Director and 11 years with C&A as Head of Construction for UK, Holland and Belgium.

Tony is a Chartered Surveyor qualifying in 1986 and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Tony is married to Sarah with four children. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football, dog walking and going to the gym.
