Site plan for Goodman's Project Duke – Goodman

In a filing with the New South Wales Government, Goodman has filed for a data center development known as Project Duke.

The company is looking to redevelop 2 & 10-22 Kent Road in the Mascot area of the city into a 29,705 sqm (319,740 sq ft), five-story data center offering 90MW. Timelines for development weren’t shared.

The site has frontage to Gardeneras Road, Kent Road, and Ricketty Street, and an existing site area of approximately 20,280 sqm (218,290 sq ft). The existing warehouses would be demolished.

Eaton currently operates a large part of the Kent Road property. After acquiring the site for AU$5.2 million ($3.46m) in 1997, the company sold the site to Goodman for AU$76m ($50m) last year.

Goodman said the site is currently owned by Tallina Pty Ltd as Trustee of Goodman Kent Road Trust.

Goodman is an integrated property group with operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, the UK, and the Americas. In the past 15 years, Goodman has delivered 600MW of powered sites and powered shell projects. According to Goodman's CEO, as of November 2023, the company had 3.7GW of secured or potential power within its portfolio.

The company is planning a 126MW data center in Sydney’s Guildford West on a former Castrol site, and is seeking to redevelop the former ABC television studios on Sydney’s North Shore into an 80MW data center.

In April 2023, the company announced plans for a 100MW powered shell in Frankfurt, Germany. The company recently announced plans to expand its data center footprint in Japan and that it had broken ground on a new facility in Hong Kong.
