Rickard Vikström, founder and CEO of Internet Vikings, said: "Entering into Latin America was not only a strategic decision for growth but also a commitment to provide local regulated operators with access to VMware cloud hosting, compliant with instant scaling on-demand."

The company said it would offer “reliable and secure hosting services that enable operators to develop in this competitive environment.” It added Latin America is opening up as a market for iGaming and sports betting thanks to rapidly evolving regulations in many countries. Brazil and Peru are among the countries developing new rules around online gambling.

In keeping with the way it operates in other territories, it is likely Internet Vikings is leasing space in a colocation facility, rather than building its own data center. Founded in 2008, it offers specialized data center services for iGaming companies, including cloud hosting in multiple US states through a partnership with VMware. It is also active in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Kristoffer Ottosson, COO of Internet Vikings, said: "Our launch into Latin America underscores our dedication to providing the industry with a heightened level of cybersecurity, and infrastructure to support our clients effectively.

“We are confident that our partnership with local stakeholders, combined with our VMware cloud hosting services, will enable us to deliver value to current and potential operators in the area."
